The ‘Die in July’ Tour Recap

This past month myself, ScrmmbledEggs and Manatee took part in a 5 show tour across southern Ontario, making a nice little loop of London-Waterloo-Windsor-Barrie-London. We made so many new friends along the way, made some very big connections and had a blast doing what we do best. Each performance was better than the last, and the crowds were always full and energetic. Thank you to all who came out, who helped us organize and run these events, and any other support you gave us! We can’t wait to do this again soon!

It is my absolute joy, honour and pride to announce that I have received the Forest City London Music Award for Hip Hop Artist of 2021. I have posted a Video giving thanks to many people involved on my Instagram. For anyone I have missed I very much apologize. There is so much more coming and I can’t wait to share more work with all of you. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey, I love you all!

Transmigration.

It’s here! The final single from the upcoming album ‘The Cat’. It explores the concept of death and the question of where we go in the end. It brings a spiritual closure to the album as a whole and stands alone as an uplifting and beautiful piece about the finale of our lives. It was lovingly mixed by Axel Rosa and became something magical with his touch. Therefore it is dedicated in his memory. It was always his favorite of the songs he worked on for the album and he would often play it and sing along with every word. Check it out in the Music section, and check the official lyric video Here

Love Always, until the very end.

Axel Rosa.

I don’t even know where I’m supposed to begin with this. I wanted to wait for the family to speak first before I did, and to clear my head and say the right words. A year ago I met Axel at a show and we really clicked. He saw potential in me that no one else did and took me under his wing. He understood my message and my style and encouraged me to keep pushing the envelope with my music. He was also very vocal about supporting my lifestyle and relationships.

In early 2020 he decided to mix my upcoming album ‘The Cat’, and it became an interesting hybrid of my home recording and his studio mixes, while we both dealt with the complications of lockdown. He then finished some of the final tracks with me at his studio when restrictions eased up. Since then we began hanging out in person at least once a week, for all of the late summer and fall. Sometimes we would record for various projects, sometimes we would make plans for the future, and sometimes we’d just talk.

He became one of my closest friends and I got to meet the kind and caring man he truly was. There were times I was in a very dark place this year and he was there to help me let it out musically. There was also times I helped lift him with the music I was making. That was our language. Music. We wouldn’t need long conversations, we’d just create, and watch each other dance and sing to what was born. I’ve yet to meet someone else I mesh with musically like I did with him. We complemented each other’s styles and really pushed each other to try many new strange and wonderful things.

We had so many plans for the coming year, so many ideas, and we worked hard at things right until the very end. It’s only been four days since I last saw him, out filming a music video. We smiled and laughed and joked around the entire day. It was amazing to see him so happy. I’ll forever be grateful my last afternoon with him was bright, hopeful, and full of joy. Today was the next day we were supposed to meet up, and I find myself at a complete loss. I’ve really lost a brother, a mentor and a very dear friend. Rest assured I will pursue music with all I have Axel, and hold my head high. We’re still in this together, and we always will be.
