Photoblog - I Have Camera(s) Again
May 7, 2006 From: doug

I’m sure nobody comes to this site often enough to notice, but my Photoblog has been stagnant for over a month. This is mostly due to the fact that I didn’t have a camera for over a month. My Panasonix Lumix FZ5 was being repaired for the 2nd time (one pixel was stuck red) and it took forever for them to get the part. But now it is fixed and back in my possession. In addition, I’ve finally purchased a DSLR… I decided to go with a Canon 30D which I received early last week. The first photo from my Canon is featured today.

That’s a great picture. Very Laverne and Shirley… through an artist’s lens of course.

[Photoblog]Night Beach #3 - 2006-09-08

As the remains of Ernesto took out the power in my area, I headed down to the beach and snapped some long exposure photos. Because of the thick clouds and the power outage, the only light on the beach was being cast from downtown Toronto (where they still had power). These photos were taken sometime after 1:00 AM.

Deep Thought of the Day (by Jack Handey)

Reader's Tips
With a permanent marker, we identified our telephone directories. We don't pick up the wrong one anymore.

It would be a good idea for makers of plastic coated wire shelves to make individually stacked wire shelves for telephone books, etc., for easy removal.

Doug responds: Why aren't there more products designed for the heavy user of printed telephone books? I can never figure that out.
