Believe in God. Believe in His ability to alter your food. Yes, He is everywhere. Can I offer you some sour cream?

Evil, Scary Butterflies
April 21, 2005 From: doug

Everybody has some quirk, and the internet allows people with the same quirk get together. So, yes, of course there is a site dedicated to people who fear, are disgusted by, or general just dislike butterflies: IHateButterflies. It’s a place where they can share stories about horrific butterfly-filled and moth-loaded events.

I’m not trying to be mean, but phobias are just plain phunny. They make me laugh. Even the common ones: Snakes, heights, spiders. It’s the way people are around their fears. Screaming over little spiders. Running from falling leaves. Or, in my case, keeping my distance from vines. (I’ll bet you didn’t know that about me).

There are currently 125 people registered on the forum, and I’ve only just scanned the articles so far. Truth is, I can only take so much butterfly talk. You’d think if you were scared of butterflies you might not be so interested in discussing them, but I guess fear and obsession are very close? Anyway, there is a section for Other Fears and Phobias, and my very favourite article is: I’m scared of turkeys and chickens. That person must have a hard time around Thanksgiving.

Cans of What?!?
April 15, 2005 From: doug

Cans of FuckMan, I wish I had known you could buy cans of this back in high school. Who knew?

These are actually “Puck” brand sterilized cream. They were on the very top shelf at Loblaws, above my head, so we know it wasn’t a kid who bothered to scratch off the ‘P’. Nice!

Creepy Christine
April 10, 2005 From: doug

Dinner NapkinCreepy Chrstine has decided to make paper products. So what? Well, the beauty is that the strangely humourous cards for the Waifs & Strays trading card game are based on real people, some of whom I know. And the Paper Doll Collection is, for better or worse, based on her daughter.

Here’s a picture of Christine from a Halloween party at her house back in 2003. Although she may not agree, my costume, which isn’t quite as dark or elaborate, is definitely more creepy. (If you don’t know what I’m dressed as, don’t ask, you probably don’t want to know. Let’s just say this costume was inappropriate for the Halloween party at my office).

When Reality is Far, Far Away
April 2, 2005 From: doug

Let’s say you’re trying to get some take-out for your kids from, oh I don’t know, maybe Burger King? And for watever reason, they can’t seem to get your order right. Maybe they even offer your money back. But you’re mad. So you call the police.
