Piles
April 25, 2004 From: doug

On my way back from my friend’s cottage today, I saw a track of land with huge piles of dirt. And it got me thinking… People who own enough of anything to make such a big pile are rich, in their own way. I’ve always wanted a pile of my own. A pile big enough that I would think something like “What a mighty pile of bananas” or “What an impressive pile of latex gloves”. Or, even better, “What a spectacular pile of money”. Yeah, think of it, with a pile of money you could buy enough anythings to create a *real* pile. Piles, they’re pilariffic.

Toe Sandwich
April 16, 2004 From: doug

I’m constantly threatening my friends with a joke that only I (and possibly my friend Wally) find amusing: I’m going to add a clause to my will that when I die, my last wishes are to have my friends cook and eat me. And so, today my friend Wally sent me an email with the subject “Why Wait?” and a link to this story: Man eats own toes.

Racoons
April 13, 2004 From: doug

Today Susan discovered a racoon hiding out in a crate in our garage. She tried to chase it out with a stick when she realized there were babies in the crate as well. Neither of us were too sure what to do. If I could’ve coaxed the mother back into the crate, I could’ve taken them for a drive up to the ravine. But she was too wily. Instead, I took the crate down from the shelf and left it near the front of the garage. These babies were pretty fresh… they didn’t even have their eyes open yet and they were crawling over each other for warmth. I went inside the house and eventually the mother came out of her hiding spot, and picked them up one at a time to take them out of the garage. My guess is we’ll be unintentionally feeding them garbage later in the year.

New Site is Ready To Go
April 11, 2004 From: doug

This is it. It should load faster, if that matters to you. But, so far it is mostly the same content as the old site. I still have many areas to expand on, most importantly the photos section. The one new thing posted so far is that Music section has links to the songs I’ve created with GarageBand. Also, the Dreams / Other Dreams section has been better organized (using PHP and the Text DB API).
